Xbox One Preview Program members are now able to play video games before they have been released. Microsoft is now seeking feedback from those that have already tried out the new feature.
Xbox Director of Program Management, Mike Ybarra, tweeted out: “Do you like the Game Preview Program on Xbox One? Interested in thoughts (and if you have no clue what it is let me know that too!)”
This feature is similar to Steam’s “Early Access” feature where players are able to play some video games even though they’re still currently in development.
This feature is only available to Xbox One preview members, but it might be accessible to everyone in the future if it turns out well. Giving early access to some video games is a good thing as developers can improve the gameplay experience in the middle of developing them.
Ybarra is also going to seek out a different name to the Game Preview Program on Xbox One. This is because it’s similar to the other preview program that allows gamers to get access to update features. They cannot call it “early access” either because that belongs to Steam.
If you are a part of the Game Preview Program, it’s a good idea to let Ybarra know how you feel about it so far. Suggesting a different name for the feature is also beneficial for Microsoft.
