Microsoft UK Finds A Cheeky Way To Advertise Star Wars Battlefront On Xbox One

Microsoft UK found a loophole to kind of advertise that Star Wars Battlefront is available on Xbox One.

As some gamers may know already, EA made a deal with Sony so that all official advertisements for Star Wars Battlefront are for PS4 only.

This put Microsoft at a little disadvantage because they weren’t able to officially advertise that Star Wars Battlefront is available on Xbox One too. The company has had to resort mainly on Facebook posts and other ways to spread the word.

However, a NeoGAF user spotted a spread in a recent issue from the Metro newspaper. On the left hand side of the page, you can see there is a review article for Star Wars Battlefront. On the right side, there is a big “Available On Xbox One” sign. This is an obvious big sign the game is available on Microsoft’s console too.

Microsoft did something similar last year with Destiny as they advertised that it was a fragrance instead of a game. The PR department for Microsoft are very creative to find loopholes behind the advertising restrictions that have been placed upon them.

The actual Metro review piece clearly says the game is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. However, it’s only in small writing as the big advertisement on the right will obviously get more attention by readers and onlookers.
