Nintendo finally announced last year that they were going to branch out to mobile platforms in addition to their console and handheld offering, but it wasn’t until last week that their first product reached the market with the free-to-play Miitomo. There has been a lot of discussion about the app since that release, so it is no wonder that it is lighting up both the iOS and Android sales charts.

As of the time of this writing, Miitomo is sitting at #1 for free apps on both the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store, which is very impressive for Nintendo’s first foray into the mobile app realm.

The iOS App Store currently has 12,666 reviews right now, with an overwhelming number of positive reviews. The Google Play Store has even more reviews at 74,456 due to the number of Android devices out there, with reviews pretty on par.

While the iOS App Store does not give details on the numbers of installs, the Google Play Store gives an incredibly vague range of installs, which is listed as between 1 million and 5 million right now.

For comparison, on both the stores, Miitomo currently sits just about very popular apps like Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, and Instagram, so it is doing quite well right now. If you have not gotten a chance to try out the game yet, definitely give it a download since it is free and prepare yourself to have some genuine fun.
