Telltale’s foray into the world of Minecraft with Minecraft: Story Mode started off a bit slow, but eventually became a fairly enjoyable adventure game with all the usual fun and drama one expects from the developer. However, after rushing through four episodes in the span of a couple of months, the series went on hiatus and gamers have heard very little about it since. That ended today with Telltale promising a big update tomorrow.
Of course, with any news on Minecraft: Story Mode the expectation is that we’ll be getting a release date for the long awaited Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 5. In a very unusual move for Telltale, they essentially ended their storyline with the fourth episode in the series, leaving the fifth and final episode a mystery. Now it seems we’ll know how this episode will go, and get some idea of the future of the series as a whole.
The tweet reads “Big news coming tomorrow for Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 5 & an announcement on the FUTURE of the series. Stay tuned!” Will that future involve a Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2? Most likely, though anything is possible with Telltale already haven thrown out the playbook on this series. We could see some DLC expansions, a further continuation of Season 1, or something entirely new. We’ll find out tomorrow.
