Modern Warfare Remastered Standalone Version Inbound?

To help bolster the sales of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare last year, Activision included Modern Warfare Remastered as a bonus for those who purchased the pricier versions of the game.  While it’s been assumed for some time that Activision would eventually release Modern Warfare Remastered as standalone game, a new listing suggests that it could be as early as next month for PlayStation 4 owners.

This listing comes from Amazon, and is the second such listing from an online video game retailer in recent weeks that pinned a June release to the game.  The evidence is certainly starting to mount for a Modern Warfare Remastered standalone release.  With E3 2017 just around the corner it would not be surprising if the game was announced at Sony’s press conference as Activision has an exclusivity arrangement with the company to release content first on PlayStation 4.

It appears that Modern Warfare Remastered will arrive on the PlayStation 4 first.  The Amazon JP listing revealed before being removed that the release date for Modern Warfare Remastered on PS4 would be a full month earlier than Xbox One.  June 20th is the rumored date for the PS4 version, while July 20th is the rumored date for an Xbox One release.

We’ll know soon enough.  If Activision is to release Modern Warfare Remastered to those who did not buy Infinite Warfare, they’ll likely announce it at E3.
