Monster Hunter fans are anxiously awaiting the release of the newest game in the series, and now they can get their first taste of the action (note: those who bought the Nintendo E3 bundle got early access) with the Monster Hunter Generations demo. This short snippet of gameplay is now available for free on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

Monster Hunter Generations is said to be a celebration of the last ten years of the venerable RPG series. The game is essentially brand new, but longtime fans will find a lot of callbacks to older games, including remade maps, and updated monsters from those titles.

We have also gone hands-on with the final release of the game, with a review set to come out closer to the final release date. Our initial impressions were strong though, saying “Monster Hunter Generations is off to a great start so far, with new features such as the brand new Hunter Styles and Hunter Arts that really do manage to shake up the gameplay even this early in the game.”

Now fans can check these things out for themselves and team up online with other players on the Monster Hunter Generations demo. The full game hits the Nintendo 3DS on July 15th, so keep coming back for more news, and the final review. We’ll also have guides to help you get started in the game.
