WB Games and Netherrealm Studios have announced the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat XL. The game will serve as a sort of Game of the Year edition of the 2015 fighter, combing everything that was released for that title into one single package.

Mortal Kombat XL is being described by WB Games as ” the definitive experience of the award-winning, hit Mortal Kombat X videogame,” going on to explain how the original title was the best-selling game in franchise history. It was also very well received critically, winning many awards including one of our own.

The announcement doesn’t dive too much into specifically what is contained in Mortal Kombat XL, instead relying on generalities. However, those seem to explain what this package is, as it seems like they’ve included everything they possibly could.

“Every fighter, every skin, every Kombo, every X-Ray, every fatality, every decapitation, every nut punch, every impalement” explains the trailer before diving into a huge amount of content players can expect.

One thing that has upset some fans is that there are already promises of exclusive content for Mortal Kombat XL with a pre-order. It seems that while XL will have everything from the base game, those who purchased the regular edition might be left without some small pieces of content down the road.

Mortal Kombat XL will be available on March 1st, 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One.
