EA has revealed three brand new maps coming to Battlefield 2042. These maps are named Renewal, Breakaway and Discarded. As already known, the upcoming Battlefield game will have 128 players on a single map and according to EA, these maps are “specifically designed to provide a unique experience that directly impacts strategy for you and your squad.” Take a look at the Battlefield 2042 gameplay trailer showing off the new maps:

Battlefield 2042 New Maps First Look

The brief video gives us a glimpse of the three new Battlefield 2042 maps and shows off some gameplay elements. The three new maps are set in different real-world locations and here’s a quick rundown of each map in Battlefield 2042:

  • Renewal: This map is set in Egypt and from the video, it looks like there will be different landscapes to explore. There is a comprehensive arrangement of solar array Power stations on one side as well as some kind of research facility. This map will be good for close-range encounters with several buildings to go into.
  • Breakaway: The Breakaway map will take you to the snow-covered deserts of Antarctica. The different areas of the map are connected with zip lines and rope bridges, while you can even glide over different terrains as and when you like. The map will have platforms and stations. But it looks like the map will favor sniper gameplay.
  • Discarded: The last map shown in the trailer is Discarded and will be set in some rural settlement along India’s west coast. The map is packed with containers and even has a dismantled hull and a giant ship for you to traverse. The map will even feature attack helicopters that can be used to rain destruction from above. You also have to be wary of the unforeseen change in weather as a tornado could hit the map at any instant.

Apart from these three maps, Battlefield 2042 will have four more maps making a grand total of seven maps in the game. These maps will be Hourglass, Manifest, Kaleidoscope and Orbital. Each map will be set in different parts of the world, presenting players with new challenges and threats. Battlefield 2042 is one of the most high-profile upcoming games and adds a radically new twist to the existing Battle Royale genre. The game will be up against the veteran Call of Duty: Warzone and another new entrant Halo Infinite.

Battlefield 2042 will be available on November 19, 2021, on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
