New SoulCalibur VI Story Mode Detailed, Tira Revealed as DLC Character

SoulCalibur VI will be out in a couple of months, but there is still more to reveal about the game. Some of this information was recently revealed at Gamescom 2018.

At the convention, Bandai Namco revealed a new Story Mode that will be part of SoulCalibur VI called Libra of Soul. This mode comes in addition to Chronicle of Souls, the game’s main campaign and first story mode. In Libra of Soul, the player will create their own custom character who will then travel the world fighting various canon characters in search of the Soul Edge shards. The game’s character customization will allow for a lot of detail, including choosing one of sixteen races before determining size, clothes, hairstyle, armor, facial features, weapons, and fighting styles.

It was also revealed that the character Tira will be joining the SoulCalibur VI roster as a playable character, but will not be available in the main game, but rather as DLC. Tira made her first appearance as a villain in SoulCalibur III, working for Nightmare. Since then, she has become a popular character, largely due to her unique fighting style using her hula hoop-like Ring Blade. Tira will be available to players who purchase the game’s Season Pass, as well as being available as a stand-alone purchase.

An online mode was also announced for the game, which will allow players to use their custom character or any canon character to fight others online in either casual or ranked matches. SoulCalibur VI is set for release for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 on October 19.
