Next Saints Row Game is Deep in Development

Yesterday when THQ Nordic released its most recent financial data, they also revealed that Volition is deep in development for a new Saints Row game.  In the financial earnings statement, this new Saints Row game was their number one bullet point when talking about the future for THQ Nordic.

“Volition is deep in development of a brand-new Saints Row game, the first full entry in this much loved series since Saints Row IV was released in 2013.”  the developer then tweeted about the new Saints Row game since the cat was let out of the bag.  Though they described the game a little bit differently, calling it a “big, bold, and very bad ass Saints Row game!,”

It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long since a numbered entry in the popular series, but we’ve not been without Saints Row or Volition games in the last six years.  We saw the stand alone expansion Gat out of Hell release in 2015, but that was technically a stand-alone expansion to Saints Row IV.  We’ve also seen Volition try an entirely new IP a few years ago with Agents of Mayhem.  While this is technically in the Saints Row Universe, it was an entirely different premise, despite having a similar art style and tone.

Neither Volition or THQ Nordic put a timeline on the release of the next Saints Row game, but our money is on the next generation of consoles.
