It seems we haven’t quite heard the last of Yoko Taro’s Nier: Automata. After its release in February 2017, Nier: Automata has enjoyed much critical acclaim and has gone on to be something of a classic of this generation. It’s characters have become widely recognizable too, something that’s particularly true of the android 2B after her cameo appearances in games like Soul Calibur VI. Nier: Automata has also enjoyed a measure of financial success too, having sold 3 million copies worldwide as of June 2018. Not bad for a niche title, eh?
We’re over a year out from the game’s initial release now, but it looks like there’s at least one more release coming for Nier: Automata. The existence of a new version of the game, Nier: Automata – Game of the YoRHa Edition, has been revealed courtesy of the ESRB. Like the original version of the game, this Game of the YoRHa Edition is rated “M,” and the listed details are the same as the original as well. Additionally, the only listed platforms are PlayStation 4 and PC which means that this is probably the same package as the Become As Gods edition on Xbox One.
Nier: Automata –Â Become As Gods Edition on the Xbox One served as both a game of the year edition and the game’s initial release for the console. It included all the DLC and was optimized for the Xbox One X’s 4K display capabilities. So, while this Game of the YoRHa Edition might not be worth it for fans who already own the base game, players who missed it the first time around would do well to pick it up. Nier: Automata is a fantastic game with exciting combat mechanics, a deep customization system, and a thought-provoking story that will linger long after the game has ended. If you haven’t already, check it out and bring glory to mankind!
