Nintendo loves to bring their upcoming game news directly to their fans via the many Nintendo Direct presentations they host throughout the year. While there wasn’t a new Direct today, Nintendo did drop a bunch of new info about future titles. This came in the form of a surprise 22 minute video from Nintendo of Europe, all focused on indie games for Nintendo Switch.

Night Call, The Gardens Between, Terraria, and many more are featured throughout the video. Some of these had been previously announced, while others were complete shockers. Either way, it’s clear that the Switch will be home to some huge and awesome indie games over the course of its lifetime. This seemed clear right away as the console took off in popularity, but has only expanded over the last few months.

There’s a reason that indie games do so well on the Switch, and it’s something that I’ve experienced personally. The Switch is unique among current consoles in that it offers a marked difference in how, where, and when you can play games. Being portable while retaining almost all of its graphical power means indie games, which typically require less hardware gain a feature at little cost. There is more I can do with Terraria on Switch than on Xbox One or PS4, so sometimes players buy the game multiple times.

Which indies are you excited to buy or re-buy on Nintendo Switch?
