The Nintendo Switch’s launch lineup has drawn some criticism due to the lack of games that will be available right out of the gate, though today we learn that some indie games will be stepping in to make things a little better. The big one is Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and its Specter of Torment expansion, which will also be joined by Fast RMX on the console on March 3rd.

Shovel Knight will be a fantastic addition to the Switch’s lineup, as that game and its DLC has been showered with endless praise. The game was recently re-branded as Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, which essentially serves as a hub for the original game (now called Shovel of Hope), as well as the Plague of Shadows and Specter of Torment DLC. Nintendo also revealed that Treasure Trove and Specter of Torment will be Nintendo Switch exclusives for a limited time, though specifics on the exclusivity weren’t given.

As for the other game, Fast RMX is described as an anti-gravity racing game that is “lightning-fast.” Shin’en Multimedia is the creator of the game and it is a full-fledged Nintendo Switch exclusive.

These indie games will be a part of the 60 that will be available for the Nintendo Switch by the year’s end, with Nintendo noting that that number does not include digital versions of games or DLC. A video presentation is set to be shown next week called Nindies Showcase, which is all about giving the spotlight to indie games coming to Nintendo platforms. That will be shown on February 28th at 9 AM PT.

It won’t be much longer until everyone (or anyone who managed to pre-order) gets their hands on Nintendo Switch, which will launch on March 3rd and cost $299. We’ve been testing the console out for a couple of days now, and you can check out our early thoughts on it by clicking right here.
