Nvidia debunks Moon Landing Conspiracies with new video

by William Schwartz

Apparently, there are many out there who believe that the Apollo 11 moon landing was a hoax. Using the new Maxwell GPU, Nvidia has digitally rebuilt the iconic photo of Buzz Aldrin and the lunar module. Arguments had been made that the lighting in the old photos didn’t add up, and that the astronaut was lit by an auxiliary light source, some thought a Hollywood studio. The simulation of the sun’s rays using the Unreal Engine and new lighting technologies in the GTX graphics cards have debunked the conspiracy theories.

Debunked or not, it’s not a bad way for Nvidia to get the word out about their new GeForce GTX 980 and GeForce GTX 970 graphics cards, which recently went on sale.
