Many Blizzard games such as Overwatch are having problems right now as the servers are down. This is all thanks to a current DDOS attack happening.
The Blizzard Customer Service Twitter page said: “We are currently monitoring a DDOS attack against network providers which is affecting latency/connections to our games.” If you are having problems playing Overwatch or other games from Blizzard, now you know why you cannot get in.
The Twitter page also said: “We are currently investigating reports of login issues. Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and we hope to have this resolved soon!”. Again, this is due to the servers not going properly because of the ongoing attacks.
It’s worth mentioning that the DDOS attacks are currently happening due to salty gamers that have recently been banned from playing Overwatch. Blizzard recently banned a lot of gamers that have been caught cheating or hacking the game for unfair advantages. The people that have been banned are now getting revenge.
We’re not sure how long this will be going on for, so look out for more updates on the Blizzard Twitter page. As of right now, the attacks have been going on for 40 minutes and servers have yet to go back to normal.
Update: Blizzard Twitter: “The DDoS attacks from earlier have ended and players can now log into BattleNet. We are investigating reports of World Server Down in WoW.”
