Last week saw the new hero Orisa added to Overwatch’s roster, bringing a new way for fans to play the game. Despite players being able to use her for about a week now, the character had been excluded from Competitive Play as a means for everyone to get used to her before bringing her into the more intense game mode. However, today she has officially been added to Competitive Play.
The announcement was made on the official Overwatch Twitter account, along with the caption “enhancing combat routines.” As is always the case when adding new characters to a game where character balance is vital to its success, it will be very interesting to see how the character fits in and what changes may need to be made going forward. People seem to be enjoying using the character so far, being a good support character for a team while also being able to deal out some decent damage at the same time.
Orisa is definitely a great addition to the game’s roster, bringing a new type of gameplay that fans of the game should enjoy mastering in order to play well with the character. Along with Orisa being added to Competitive Play is a new patch that has been released for the PC version of the game. The update actually includes important tweaks that involve the game’s new character, as it prevents Orisa from being able to deploy Supercharge inside of a payload. Her movement has also been slowed down a little when in midair, making it more in line with her movement on the ground.
Overwatch is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game will have some big new features coming to the game this year, with one of them being the ability to save play of the game highlights that should be coming this Summer.
