Overwatch’s  Winter Wonderland seasonal event is here and it’s brought all the usual goodies with it. Players that decide to hop on between now and January 2 have the chance to unlock new cosmetics for their favorite heroes and enjoy the Yeti Hunter and Mei’s Snowball Offensive game types once again. It only comes once a year, so now would be a good time to get started for all those seasonal players out there.

This year’s loot pool includes several new legendary and epic skins as well as those introduced last year. The new skins include Krampus Junkrat, Sugar Plum Fairy Mercy, Biathlon Widowmaker, Snowfox Lucio, Figure Skater Symmetra, Winter Ashe, Festive Reinhardt, Giftwrap Bastion, Alpine: 76, and Snowboarder Zarya. As always, these can either be gained as loot box drops or purchased directly if one has enough coins.

For those who haven’t participated in an Overwatch Winter Wonderland event, they generally feature at least one seasonal game mode for players to enjoy; this year includes both Yeti Hunter and Mei’s Snowball Offensive. The former pits a team of five Mei’s against one Winston with Winston having to eliminate all five Mei characters while they try to eliminate him. As for the latter, it’s a standard 6v6 brawl where the only playable character is Mei and the weapon of choice is snowballs. This year, it seems that both of these special modes will play out in a winterized version of Blizzard World. Better make sure to get that throwing arm warmed up before heading out there though; the competition can be fierce.

Overwatch is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
