Gamers could be playing Gears of War 4 earlier than anyone else if they pre-order the Ultimate Edition via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. This is exciting if you are too impatient to wait for the standard release date of the game.
A NeoGAF user found more information about this while looking at a listing for Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition on the New Zealand Xbox Live Store. I checked the store myself and saw the same listing.
The listing said: “Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition is your gateway to Early Access for Gears of War 4, allowing you to download and start playing Friday, October 7 – four days before the game’s standard release date.”
You can ignore the insane price tag that is listed here. Games are usually more expensive in New Zealand, so the Ultimate Edition should be much cheaper if you live elsewhere.
Microsoft must be taking a page out of EA as they offer the chance to play their games early if you are a subscriber to EA Access. Last year, Activision offered gamers a chance to own Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 24 hours early by getting a special edition as well.
