SCEE president Andrew House has recently been quoted as saying that is “unlikely” that any developer has tapped the full potential of the PlayStation 3. Â In an interview at the official PlayStation web portal House was quoted.
“If you look at PlayStation 2 as an example, it took God of War II eight years into the lifecycle to fully utilize the potential of the console”, and added
“Already with the PlayStation 3 you can see how games have evolved quickly in the three years since launch, with games such as Uncharted 2, Little Big Planet, and Heavy Rain really exploring the potential and power of PlayStation 3.”
” I think it is unlikely that any developer has fully utilized the full potential of PS3 yet, but they are getting much closer everyday.”
Even developers of the best looking and most impressive titles on the system admit that they were only harnassing around half of the systems potential. Â Which leads you to believe what comes next? 3D? Motion? It seems like PS3 has a lot left in the tank for this generation.
