The PlayStation VR headset has been sold out ever since pre orders originally opened months ago. This is true of both bundles that were made available at the time, one with just the headset, and another that includes the PlayStation Camera and Move controllers. However, if you missed out on the original set of pre orders, you will be getting another chance tomorrow at 10am ET.
“As promised, we’re opening our summer wave of PS VR pre-orders starting Thursday, June 30 at 7:00 AM Pacific on GameStop.com,” reads the announcement on the PlayStation Blog. “Supplies are limited, and this is your final chance to pre-order. If you miss out, we will have product available in retail stores nationwide at launch.”
Most likely, these pre orders will not last long, with gamers hungry for anything related to VR. With the PlayStation VR headset being easily the cheapest way to experience the technology, gamers around the world have been gobbling them up whenever possible.
Sony did promise additional stock at launch though, so if you miss out on this final round of pre orders then you can always wait until then. Those too will likely go fast, but if you prepare properly, much like you would for a new console launch, you might be able to get one.
The PlayStation VR comes in two different bundles, starting at $399.99 and going up to $499.99. Presumably both of these will be up for pre order tomorrow. If so, be sure to check for both on Gamestop.com, as one might sell out faster than the other.
