Last year, Pokémon GO held an event called Adventure Week, which saw increased spawn rates for Rock-type Pokémon, as well as other rewards and bonuses. This year, the event is back, and it will be a bit longer than a week this time.
It was recently announced on the official Pokémon GO site that this year’s Rock-type event will start today, May 24, at 1:00pm PST/4:00pm EST. The announcement promises “unique Field Research,” along with “exciting rewards.” As is expected, Rock-types will appear more frequently during the event and Aerodactyl will return as a Raid Boss. Buddy Pokémon will receive Candy at four times their usual rates and players will receive more XP than usual for spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms, with PokéStops and Gyms new to the player giving as much as ten times the normal amount of XP. The event is set to run until June 5, giving players almost two weeks to take advantage of Adventure Week.
