Pokemon Go Update 0.41.2 and 1.11.2 is currently rolling out for Android and iOS via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively. This update has been long promised by Niantic, with a few of the features mentioned in the patch notes having already been laid out by them online. These include the updated gym mechanics, as well as a brand new catch bonus that should help out higher level players. Still, the patch notes have some surprises, so check them out below.

Pokemon Go Update 0.41.2 and 1.11.2 Patch Notes: “Catch Bonus: Trainers can earn a catch bonus for a Pokémon type as they catch more of a specific type. Updated Gym Training: Trainers can now bring six Pokémon to battle at friendly Gyms. The CP of the Pokémon you are battling may be temporarily adjusted lower for your training session. Egg & Incubator Screens: These will periodically update the distance walked without the Trainer needing to close and reopen the screen. Fixed several audio issues. Decreased the evolution animation time. Minor fixes.”

These are definitely some nice upgrades for the Pokemon Go experience. It seems like gyms have stagnated in many areas, and being able to build them up faster and more efficiently might incentivize players to mess with them more often. Still, there are a lot of things lacking with the game, including the tracking system that has been disabled for months. With the recent loss of Pokemon Go maps and scanners, players are once again left to wander around, hoping to run into that rare Pokemon that popped up on their broken Nearby list.

Hopefully Niantic is working on more than just these features, and a new update is planned for the near future to address the bigger and more important issues that players are having to deal with in Pokemon Go.
