If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at making your own mind bending puzzles in Portal 2, it looks like you are getting your opportunity.  Valve has released a beta version of their Portal 2 authoring tools.  This is the same software set that was used to make the final version of Portal 2 that you enjoyed so much over the past couple of weeks.

The tools will allow you to make your own single-player and cooperative maps, new characters skins, 3D models, sound effects, and music.  In the beta, you’ll get Hammer, the Source level editing software.  As well as an updated Faceposer, Sample Maps, and Command Line compiling utilities.  So get on over to the official Portal 2 and sign up if you want your crack at level creation fame.  Valve has been known to showcase the best from their community.  Head on to ThinkWithPortals for more info.
