The Professor Layton series has long found a home on Nintendo handhelds across the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS with six mainline games and even a crossover with Phoenix Wright as well. Along the way, there was also a movie made for the series that is you can now watch very easily.

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva first released in Japan in late 2009, but like most of the games in the series, it did not come to the US until a couple years later in 2011. The movie starts off shortly after the events of the second released game in the series, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, but the majority of the movie is a flashback to events that happened between the first and second games of the prequel trilogy.

While the movie did release in the US almost five years ago now, you now have a new place you can purchase and watch the game through, which might be a little surprising to some. Steam now lets you buy and watch certain movies and that is exactly where you can get Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva now, which will only cost you $9.99 to buy or $3.99 to rent.

While there are not a lot of reviews for the movie out there from big websites, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva was pretty well received, so this is definitely one you may want to check out if you missed out when it first came out.
