It may have been a little while since we’ve gotten any updates for systems like PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, as they have taken a bit of a break for the holidays. However, Sony is getting back going with the PS Now subscription service and that is far from all, as they have also stealthily released a new firmware update for the PS Vita.
As per usual with many of the smaller PlayStation platform related updates, this latest firmware upgrade for the PS Vita does nothing but make the system more stable. No new features appear to have been added in any way, which is no surprise considering we haven’t heard anything about new features lately for the handheld. Regardless, this is a mandatory update for anyone expecting to use anything related to online.
Hopefully we will see more updates in the near future for the PS Vita that will add many requested features, such as the ability to use a DualShock 4 with the handheld, similar to how some of the Sony phones have this ability when using remote play. It just seems perfect for remote play on the system, so it would be a very welcome addition for those that own both a PS4 and PS Vita.
