After announcing PS4 sales have topped 18.5 million worldwide, Sony has now confirmed it was the best selling console over in the UK in 2014.
As reported by MCV, Sony has confirmed that the PS4 was the best selling video games console for the year of 2014. What’s even more interesting is that the PS4 was the best selling console on Black Friday and Cyber Monday over in the UK too. It was initially thought the Xbox One had won out during that time period, although this may have only been for North America.
It has also now been confirmed that the PS4 was the best selling console for thecombined months of November and December in the UK as well. It was also the top seller in the final week of 2014. This means loads of shoppers bought the console over the busy Holiday period.
It will be an interesting year ahead for PS4 gamers in 2015 with a lot more exclusives being released. The first big releases being Bloodborne and The Order: 1886. Arguably the PS4’s biggest release in 2015 will be Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
Microsoft also has a few guns of its own to unleash in 2015 to help make the Xbox One more attractive. Rise of the Tomb Raider will go up against Uncharted 4, while Halo 5: Guardians is sure to attract more Xbox One buyers.
