Sony finally revealed more details about the much anticipated PlayStation 4 System Update 2.0 yesterday, including many of the features expected in the update. However, the one thing that everybody wants to know was left out, a set release date. The good news is that the update might not be so far away as we were given an interesting tease from someone with SCEA in the comments of the official PlayStation blog page that revealed the latest details about the update.
Scott McCarthy, Director of Product Planning & Software Innovation at SCEA, actually made the initial blog post about PlayStation 4 System Update 2.0 yesterday, but he didn’t stop there before fielding questions in the comments section. Of course it did not take long for someone to ask about an expected release date, in which McCarthy obliged with the following tease:
“We have not yet announced a date. That said we don’t want you guys playing some of the biggest games of the year without the biggest update of the year.”
This would make you think that the next big update for PlayStation 4 has to be really soon, as the biggest games of the holiday season are approaching, with games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Little Big Planet 3, and Assassin’s Creed Unity on the horizon. With those release dates coming so soon, the update has to be in the very near future, so stay tuned for more details on a release date soon.
