Pokemon Sun and Moon have now been out for almost two months and both garnered near universal praise upon their release. Like we’ve seen with recent generations, Pokemon Sun and Moon launched with a special free distribution Pokemon and today, January 11, is the final day to get it in either game.
The free distribution this time for Pokemon Sun and Moon is that of Munchlax, the pre-evolution of Snorlax. There is something special about this Munchlax too, as it comes with the Snorlium Z. Munchlax cannot use this item, but upon evolving it to Snorlax and learning Giga Impact, you will be able to use the very powerful Pulverizing Pancake Z-Move. Because of this, this Snorlax is nicknamed Pulverizing Snorlax.
For those that have yet to download your free Munchlax with the Snorlium Z in Pokemon Sun or Moon, these are the steps you’ll need to follow to do so.
First of all, start up your copy of Pokemon Sun or Moon and rather than actually opening your game save, instead choose the Mystery Gift option. After doing this, select Receive Gift, and then Get Via Internet. It will ask if you wish to continue, so choose Yes. At this point, the game will search for gifts and it should find Munchlax and Snorlium Z in one package. Simply select this and it will download it into your game like with previous Mystery Gifts.
After going through this in the Mystery Gift section, simply open up your version of Pokemon Sun or Moon and pick up the package from a deliveryman at any Pokemon Center, which should be wearing a blue and orange striped shirt.
If you haven’t had a chance to start the game yet, you will only need to start it up until you get to the point where you first control your character in your bedroom and can save. Exit out of the game and start the game again to be able to access the Mystery Gift option. You won’t be visiting a Pokemon Center right away, but as long as you get the Mystery Gift part done by today, January 11, you will be able to get the actual Munchlax with Snorlium Z in the game at a later date at a Pokemon Center.
