The release date for Red Dead Redemption 2 is set for late-October on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Though a new listing on Amazon has another piece of Red Dead 2 merchandise set to arrive right around the same time, which delves into the art behind the game.
Initially spotted by Rockstar Intel, the book appears to be titled “The Art of Red Dead Redemption II.” When initially posted, the listing contained a bit more information about the book than it does if you head to the page now.
Here’s what the description read before being changed:
“Makers of the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto series, award-winning Bully, Max Payne, L.A. Noire, and many others, Rockstar Games crafted for Red Dead Redemption II the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight, and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America at the turn of the twentieth century in order to survive.
The Art of Red Dead Redemption II is the official visual companion to Rockstar Game’ highly anticipated game release, and is a peek behind the curtain of Rockstar Games and its intensely guarded approach to the creation of the lush, Old West open-world gameplay. A first for this secretive company, Rockstar Games has released storyboards and behind-the-scenes inner workings of the game’s creation, with a mix of detailed original art, concept, story, and character studios, sketches, and actual screengrabs of the end result that led to the creation of this spectacular game. The Art of Red Dead Redemption II is equal parts a collection of behind-the-scenes art of this epic adventure and a pictorial love letter to the western genre, and Red Dead Redemption II is sure to captivate both a new gaming audience and devoted fans of Rockstar.”
The listing doesn’t reveal very much that we didn’t already know about Red Dead Redemption 2, but does give a pretty concise description about the central plot and timeline for the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated for release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 26th, 2018.
