There are plenty of rumors floating out there about the future of the Resident Evil franchise and whether we will get some big news coming in the near future. While there are plenty of unknowns, we did know that we were getting ports of Resident Evil 6, 5, and 4 were coming to PS4 and Xbox One, the first of which we have already gotten. Resident Evil 5 is the next one to come and we finally have a set release date for it now.
Reports started to surface the other day that it was looking like Resident Evil 5 was going to be coming later this month, with a few listings being found. However, at that point, nothing had been officially announced.
That has now changed as Capcom has officially revealed that Resident Evil 5 will be arriving on both PS4 and Xbox One on June 28.
This re-release will be giving us an upgrade on the original, as it is said to be 1080p with a higher frame rate than the original releases. In addition to that, this will include all the content for the game, including the previously PC exclusive No Mercy mode.
We are also getting a special new mode added called Mercenaries Unlimited, so it sounds like this will be worth a purchase for those that already owned it on last-gen.
