The upcoming multiplayer survival horror shooter called Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps might not be a main entry in the series that fans are waiting for, but it is nonetheless on the horizon with the release month being revealed. While a specific date remains unknown, it’s set to launch in May.

To go with the announcement of the release month is a brand new trailer that shows off the game’s horde-type mode called The Experiment. While the game is multiplayer-focused, The Experiment is a singleplayer-only and will have over 20 missions for players to take on at launch.

The trailer also shows off the village map, which fans of Resident Evil 4 will see has a striking resemblance to the village that players start off in that game. You can check out the new trailer at the bottom of this post.

As for what the setting for this upcoming game is, Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps takes place two years after the events of Resident Evil 6. While Umbrella has since been disbanded there is a lot of research info they left behind that lots of power-hungry corporations are seeking to get a hold of. This results in the corporations sending in mercenaries into the zombie-infested areas to get the info before the others have a chance to.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps will be available as a digital-only release for PlayStation 4 and PC. Stay tuned for when the exact release date for the game is revealed by Capcom.
