Rise of the Tomb Raider Listed On PS4 By GAME UK

UK retailer GAME has listed a PS4 copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider. This could be evidence the game is eventually making its way to the platform.

At Gamecom 2014, Microsoft shocked everyone by announcing that Rise of the Tomb Raider will only be released for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. This angered PC and PlayStation gamers since Tomb Raider is a third-party franchise and not part of Microsoft.

Crystal Dynamics eventually gave an explanation that Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity for Xbox platforms “has a duration”. They didn’t want to go into more detail if the game would eventually be released for the PC, PS4 or PS3 yet.

However, it looks like GAME has listed Rise of the Tomb Raider for PS4 already. It’s possible the listing has been put up prematurely as I’m sure Crystal Dynamics isn’t taking about a PS4 version just yet. After all, the Xbox version of the game is being released in Fall 2015. This is over a year from now. The PS4 version isn’t likely to be out until 2016 due to the timed exclusive deal with Microsoft.

Hopefully Crystal Dynamics ends the speculation once and for all and eventually announces Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available on PS4 and/or PC. Until that announcement, all we can do now is just wait and speculate.
