Rock Band 4 was officially unveiled last month after much teasing by Harmonix and greatly excited fans of the music game genre that has been almost nonexistent over the last few years. Ever since the first entry in the series, Harmonix has worked closely with third-party peripheral company Mad Catz for the game’s official instruments, but now the two will be working even closer together with the upcoming Rock Band 4.

As revealed by their on their official website, Mad Catz will not only be the exclusive instrument manufacturer for Rock Band 4, but will also be co-publishing the title. In their announcement, they described why they were so excited about this announcement.

“Mad Catz have a deep appreciation for the amazing work by Harmonix and we can’t wait to play our part in delivering Rock Band to passionate gamers everywhere! Co-publishing the game allows us to work closer than ever before with Harmonix, delivering a seamless experience from game through hardware and ensuring that we focus on the needs of the gamer first and foremost!”

This even more involved partnership definitely makes sense with their past history over the prior three games. The previously three Rock Band games were published by MTV Games, with EA being involved with the first as well, so this should be a major help for Harmonix as they do not have to go about publishing the game all by themselves now.
