Rocket League Now Has Over 2 Million Downloads; Update Patch Coming Soon

It has now been revealed that Rocket League has been downloaded over 2 million times already. Also, an update is coming soon.

The official Rocket League Twitter page announced:

“FUN FACT: More than 2 million people have DL’d Rocket League on PS4/ PC so far. That’s amazing! Thanks to everyone for everything… ever!”

The game only came out on July 7th, 2015 so gaining over 2 million players in a short time frame is an amazing feat. Although the game is free this month for PlayStation Plus subscribers, so that must have helped the game’s popularity too.

Many people replied to the tweet saying Rocket League’s popularity could be a reason the game’s servers are not running properly. The developers may not have anticipated the game to be so popular in such a short amount of time.

The Twitter page also confirmed that an update patch is coming very soon too:

“BTW, we have a patch coming later this week that will address a lot of issues. Looking forward to talking about it once confirmed”

Hopefully the update for Rocket League later this week will allow more gamers to play the game problem free. They also promised that improvements with matchmaking is still ongoing as well.
