Rocket League has quickly become one of the biggest games in the world, launching a year and a half ago to widespread acclaim, and an ever growing audience of players. It wasn’t really supposed to be that way, with the game serving as a sequel to a relatively unknown PS3 game, but that’s how it turned out. Today sees the latest update hitting the game with Rocket League Update 1.29, bringing some new DLC and other improvements to the experience. Psyonix has issued the patch notes ahead of the release, so check them out below.
But first, the highlights, which include the recently announced Hot Wheels DLC. Rocket League and Hot Wheels are a perfect match, so this DLC makes a ton of sense, and really was just a matter of the two companies getting together. You can buy the cars after the update hits, so check the store soon.
The other big changes are the addition of a new crate. These random drop items are opened by using a key, which can be gotten from other players or purchased from the Rocket League store. Inside are various cosmetic items that players can use to trick out their car. This new crate is a fan-favorite compilation of items from other crates, giving players a better chance of getting that elusive item they’ve been wanting.
Finally for the highlights, there is PS4 Pro support, which adds 1080p 60 FPS rendering on both versions of Sony’s console, with 4K resolution on PS4 Pro. But that’s not all that Rocket League Update 1.29 touches. Read the full patch notes below:
