Dishonored was one of the most critically acclaimed new intellectual properties to come out of Bethesda in the past few years. It seems instead of the rumored Prey sequel, Arkane may have been hard at work on Dishonored 2 instead.
Given the last time that we heard about the rumored Dishonored 2 was back in March when this image surfaced. Which was supposedly apart of a slide-show that was to be for E3 2014, but as we all know now that it seems plans may have changed for Bethesda as that never materialized at E3.
Now comes news from NowGamer that an anonymous source that acquired info as far back as 12 months ago at the studio when they were developing the framework for the game and working with idTech engine, that the game is in fact in development and they are thinking of replacing Corvo with Emily Kaldwin. Given the title, the next-gen title will take place in Tyvia one of the other four islands in the world Dishonored. The plans for the game go along with Arkane hiring for PS4, Xbox One and PC developers.
Today, NowGamer followed up their previous anonymous source with an anonymous email they received that goes on to tell them that Dishonored 2 will show up at Gamescom 2014 and it came with an alleged Playstation 4 boxart which confirms earlier reports from March that the title is Dishonored II: Darkness Of Tyvia. NowGamer goes on to assure readers that previous information was gathered from a trusted source. So it looks like fans will be seeing Dishonored II sooner rather than later. For now though, it is only a rumor.
We have reached out to Bethesda and will update the post with any official comment.
Update: We’ve received comment from Bethesda on the Dishonored 2 rumors: “Thanks for reaching out; however, we don’t comment on rumor and speculation.”
