A video has now surfaced online that takes a look at the suspend/resume feature that will be in PS4 update 2.50.
A YouTube user by the name of “kmg90” has apparently got PS4 update 2.50 already and is showing off the suspend/resume feature. The feature allows you to suspend your PS4 while playing a game, and then resume playing immediately after the console is sleeping.
The video in question shows the suspend/resume feature in action. The person has his PS4 in suspend mode, and then turns his console on again. It manages to turn on in under 10 seconds and he starts to play Saint’s Row again where he left off. You don’t have to wait for logos or anything to else for you to start playing your PS4 again.
Sony noted the speed could be dependent on software titles. This video shows that Saint’s Row loads up pretty fast after it has been suspended. It’s possible other games may take a bit longer for you to resume playing.
The video he shared did not show any more features from the upcoming PS4 update 2.50. However, the suspend/resume feature is arguably the best feature of the update.
There is currently no release date for PS4 update 2.50 just yet. Sony only officially announced the update just a few days ago. It’s possible it could be coming in April, but a late March release would be nice.
