The Sekiro: Shadow’s Die Twice Twitter page has just released another boss intro, this time for the Giant Serpent. We have seen glimpses of this enormous snake in promotional material before, but now we are able to get an up close and personal look at the monster. Fromsoft have previously mentioned “cat and mouse” moments in the game, in reference to the Giant Snake. Up until now it was unclear whether this would just be an event in the game or an actual boss fight. If this is a cat and mouse boss fight it is sure to be one of the most interesting in the game.

From is not unknown for doing interesting boss fights, that go against the more traditional convention. The Ancient Wyvern in Dark Souls 3 was one such fight. You had to run up some scaffolding fighting enemies until you were above the boss then leap down onto his head for the kill. It seems like the fight with the Giant Serpent might be similar. More about hiding from the beast as you maneuver through the level.

The video is accompanied by the phrase “The very earth trembles as the great white beast slithers through the valley…” indicating that there could be environmental hazards to watch out for as well as the Giant Serpent itself. At any rate, this is sure to be an incredible fight, and perhaps one of the defining moments in Sekiro.
