Maxis has already stated that The Sims 5 will not happen if the recently released The Sims 4 is a failure.
This huge statement comes from the mouth of The Sims 4’s producer Grant Rodiek who explained his stance on The Sims 5 at the moment. On the official Sims forums, he decreed “there won’t be a Sims 5” if The Sims 4 isn’t successful. This was in response to a fan who jumped the gun and wanted changes for the franchise already. Rodiek has already stated they are not thinking about Sims 5 already and the game is not in development.
The Sims 4 came out for PC earlier this month and has fans. Over on Metacritic, the game has an okay rating of 72. This is good for critics, but fans don’t seem to like the game at all. It currently has a shocking user score of 3.7. Many fans do not like the new game at all and gave poor ratings of 0 or 1 for the game.
However, a game’s success is usually measured by its sales. The Sims 4 debuted at number one in the gaming charts throughout many countries. It will be interesting if it can maintain this success for The Sims 5 to happen.
If you want The Sims 5 to happen, you better buy The Sims 4 to make it happen. A sequel will not be made if it’s a failure.
