In a recent poll run by Amazon, Skyrim has been voted as the best game of this generation by the public. Hosted on Amazon.co.uk, the poll pitted the 16 best games of the current generation (again, voted for by the public) against each other in a knock-out tournament with 4 rounds.
Voting took place between June 1st and August 4th, and it was revealed today that Bethesda’s open world stunner Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was the triumphant winner. Having already won a large number of Game of the Year awards from industry critics, it beat Naughty Dog’s PlayStation 3 exclusive The Last Of Us in the final round to take the crown as the generations best game.
Quarter finalists included GTA IV, BioShock and BioShock Infinite, Portal 2, Far Cry 3 and The Walking Dead. However, of the final 16, Sony and Nintendo had 3 and 1 exclusive titles respectively, but none of games to make the final cut were Xbox exclusive.
This was voted for by fans, specifically UK fans as it was the British version of Amazon, but what do you think is the best game of this generation? Were there any games you thought were left out of the top 16?
