UPDATE:Â The site is reporting technical problems. They may be sold out, or the rush of traffic might be causing issues. Keep checking for now, but get ready for disappointment.
Original Story:Â Everyone has been waiting for SNES Classic Edition preorders to go live in the US and late tonight they finally did with Walmart putting out the first product. Click here to preorder the sure to be hot item, though you’d better act fast. These things are likely to sell out very, very fast. They might be gone by the time you read this article, but I’ll try to keep it updated with current info.
The SNES Classic Edition arrives this year after its predecessor pretty much dominated the holidays in 2016. The NES Classic was almost impossible to find and then Nintendo made the odd decision to discontinue the device. We’re all expecting better results for the SNES, but it is still expected to be hard to buy, and the company won’t promise that more will arrive beyond 2017.
With Walmart allowing preorders to go live expect to see more retailers with the console available. The preorders seemed delayed by something, with many suspecting regulatory certification. Now that one retailers has launched SNES Classic Edition preorders the rest won’t be far behind. Keep an eye on Amazon and Best Buy especially, as they have been good at getting these things ready before.
