Sniper Elite 4 will be taking advantage of all of the latest and greatest tech that gamers have at their disposal, with the game being confirmed as having support for PlayStation 4 Pro and DirectX 12. The announcement was made by developer Rebellion, citing their desire to make the game the biggest and best one they have ever made.

Chris Kingsley, Rebellion CTO and Co-founder said that they have “worked really hard to make Sniper Elite 4 our biggest and best game ever. And now the power of PlayStation®4 Pro, and DirectX 12 on PC, means we can take things even further for our fans who want the best sniper experience in the world. We’re turning everything up to 12!”

They also detailed the enhancements that PlayStation 4 Pro owners can look forward to when playing it on the more-powerful PS4 console, which includes the following:

  • Enhanced frame rate
  • Increased draw distances
  • Increased geometry level of detail
  • Improved lighting and shadows fidelity
  • Increased image quality of reflections

For those who have not heard much about Rebellion’s upcoming game, it most recently got a 101 gameplay trailer that shows off everything the game has to offer. One of the biggest additions to the series’ formula is co-op, which has the potential to result in some great tactical teamwork. Everything in the game has also been taken to the next level compared to previous entries in the series, with much bigger areas and a more robust arsenal of weapons at your disposal. You can check out the 101 gameplay trailer at the bottom of this post.

We recently got the chance to take a look at Sniper Elite 4 at a preview event, and came away impressed with what we saw. We said that “the staple sniping and gun play feel excellent in Sniper Elite 4,” and that the “already great bullet mechanics have only been more refined.”

Sniper Elite 4 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 14th.
