In a surprise announcement, Sony has revealed it will be hosting a State of Play broadcast on May 9.

For those unaware (or likely forgotten), the State of Play broadcasts are essentially Sony’s version of Nintendo’s Direct broadcasts, putting a brief spotlight on new titles that are poised to come out in the near-to-immediate future.

The first of these arrived in March, and while it did have a good deal of information to share, the quality of said info was…lacking. The general response was tepid, with many citing the lack of interesting reveals as the broadcast’s greatest weakness.

It’s unclear whether this State of Play will go over as well as the first, but at least viewers will know what to expect going into it, as Sony already mentioned two things for them to take note of: the event will feature MediEvil PS4, a remake of the PSone action-adventure title with the same name, and to not expect any updates related its its next-generation plans. Beyond that, everything is up in the air, only promising a first look at an unknown new title, as well as other updates and announcements for upcoming PS4 titles.

The broadcast will go live on at 3 p.m. PST/6 p.m. EST. It will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.
