Soul Calibur V Coming in 2012

Namco Bandai has announced Soul Calibur V for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, to be released in 2012. The publisher claims that this next rendition of the Soul Calibur franchise is the true successor to Soul Calibur IV, after a disappointing launch of Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny in 2009.

Namco Bandai has announced Soul Calibur V for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, to be released in 2012.  The publisher claims that this next rendition of the Soul Calibur franchise is the true successor to Soul Calibur IV, after a disappointing launch of Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny in 2009.  The game which was revealed in Namco Bandai’s Level Up showcase is set to take place 17 years after the events of Soul Calibur IV.

The next title is promised to introduce new characters to the franchise, and with the time lapse in setting, there is generational shift in the balance of power of Soul Calibur V.  No concrete dates we’re given for the title, but expect Soul Calibur on your home consoles sometime in 2012.
