Earlier this year we learned that Square Enix was teasing that more news from the Bravely Default series would be coming soon, and now that news has been revealed. They have announced Bravely Default: Fairy’s Effect, which is set to launch for iOS and Android in the near future.
The interesting thing, however, is that they did not reveal what this actually is. We know that it will be an RPG like the first two games, but whether it will be a sequel, a spin-off or something else entirely is anyone’s guess. Right now it’s currently only confirmed for a Japanese release, with a closed beta also in the works.
This won’t be the first time that the Bravely series has shown up on mobile devices, as there was already the release of Bravely Archive: D’s Report in early 2015. That game offered turn-based RPG gameplay, though simplified in order to accommodate smartphone touch screens.
Bravely Second: End Layer launched exclusively for the 3DS earlier this year, and fixed some issues that were present in the first game. You can read our review of the game by clicking right here.
