Star Fox Zero may not be out for another couple of weeks, but Nintendo is definitely starting to get the marketing push going for their biggest Spring release for the Wii U. We’ve seen some new trailers and gameplay videos from different regions of Nintendo, but the latest has come from Nintendo of America that has brought back the beloved Star Fox puppets.
Back in the days of the Super Nintendo and the original Star Fox, Nintendo utilized puppets for its anthropomorphic team of heroes. It had been years since we last saw Star Fox puppets, but last year’s E3 Digital Event brought them back in what was easily the highlight of the show, though vastly improved from the originals. This not only had the Star Fox puppets, but also the memorable last showing for Satoru Iwata in both human and puppet form.
This was an excellent way to modernize their classic ad campaign for Star Fox Zero and now they have brought the puppets back for a brand new 30 second trailer that could very well end up on TV as well.
In what is known as the “Foxy Fox” trailer, we start off diving directly into gameplay with very emphatic narration that ends up being from the puppet Fox, which leads to a funny exchange with the other members of his team as well.
You can check out the new trailer below and look out for Star Fox Zero on April 22 exclusively for Wii U.
