Stardew Valley Follow-Up Haunted Chocolatier Revealed

Haunted Chocolatier is ConcernedApe’s (Stardew Valley’s developer) new game. The community’s feedback was positive, having many fans asking when is the expected release date and more information about the title. Since then, the game’s developer shared some screenshots, and fans have been reacting to the scarce content the developer shared.

Stardew Valley is an indie RPG game released in 2016. The game’s setting is a little grim at first, but it lets players develop their stories as they please. The game has many fun activities and things to do in the world that make it feel alive and deep. Stardew Valley has a leveling system, allowing players to improve at one of the different areas like combat, mining, farming, forage, and fishing. Besides this, players can interact with over 30 unique characters with their daily schedules, birthdays, mini cutscenes, lines, and more. The indie title had many players spending hundreds of hours in the village of Stardew Valley, and at the time of writing this article, the game has more than 25000 active players on Steam.

Two days ago, ConcernedApe’s Twitter page made an unexpected announcement about the next project he has been working on. Haunted Chocolatier will have players looking for ingredients, making chocolate, and running their chocolate store. The game has a lot of similarities with Stardew Valley, and no wonder; it’s from the same developer. From the early footage, fans got to see the different settings, characters, and actions the player will take once the game is released.

By just watching the trailer, many fans would say that the game is almost finished. But in a recent entry on ConcernedApe’s website, he stated that the game might look finished, but there’s a lot to be done. The developer said he has been having a lot of fun with the project and that the fantastical setting lets him explore more than Stardew Valley did.

Many of the game’s segments represent more than just shallow concepts, and the developer shared what they meant to him. The chocolate represents something delightful, The haunted castle represents the allure of the unknown, and the ghosts represent the outline of the past.

Even though the game features a haunted castle and ghosts, it doesn’t mean the game will have something evil. The game will be uplifting and positive. ConcernedApe stated that if Stardew Valley mostly channeled the sun’s energy, Haunted Chocolatier will channel the moon’s energy as both are vital.
