Fans of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter or even the 2008 Turok game might be excited to know that the animator who worked on Turok in the past and several other Disney Interactive Entertainment titles has uploaded what appears to be a live-action teaser of the cancelled Turok 2 which was in development.
The game is loosely based on the comic of the same name. The game would have taken place directly after the events in the first game in the reboot that was released in 2008 for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360. The original plan for the game was to be developed for the Xbox 360, but it was soon cancelled. Jeremy Brown, who served as animator on the first game uploaded a fan made teaser to Vimeo earlier.
It seems as though no intent to tease fans was done, since he went onto NeoGaf and confessed that it is a trailer he made in his own time. Â All mentions list the game as ‘Unannounced First-Person Shooter’ on LinkedIn. Jeremy also uploaded to his new company website, Rattlesnake Films. In his NeoGaf post he said the following:
“Full disclosure, this is a fan-made trailer I did on my own time. That said I do have my Turok roots. I worked on Turok 2008 and this was a teaser pitch I made back during the sequel. Unfortunately we got canned before I could get it off the ground. “
So unless this is an elaborate tease, it seems that it is just simply a way to show fans of the franchise that he still loves Turok. It does give us an idea what his pitch teaser and idea for the game would have been in a sense. I guess we can still hold out hope that the game will someday be rebooted or released again with Jeremy somehow involved.
