Telltale Games Entire Catalog to be Pulled From GOG Next Week

In an announcement made by GOG on their forums, the digital retailer revealed that on Monday, May 27, any and all Telltale games that are still listed on the storefront will be removed permanently. The reasoning behind this maneuver is due to the fact that the studio closed down last year and the license deals for each game is set to expire with little to no chance of renewal.

While it is unfortunate, this is the nature of licensing and copyright agreements when they aren’t able to be renegotiated. The games that are set to be taken down are The Wolf Among Us, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman: The Enemy Within, Tales from the Borderlands, and Sam & Max and Puzzle Agent games. GOG has made it clear that anyone who owns any of these titles will be able to retain them within their library and play them at their own leisure.

If your wondering about Telltales most well known series, The Walking Dead, it was already taken down from GOG, Steam, and other digital retailers in November long after Telltales closure. When Skybound took over the remaining episodes, it was moved over to the Epic Games Store where it has remained as an exclusive title. Now with little to no reason to hold onto the remaining library of a defunct developer, GOG sees the writing on the wall and has made their decision.

If anyone sill wishes to own any of these titles through GOG’s platform launcher, you only have a few short days to purchase them before they are gone for good. As we stated earlier, the remaining Telltale Games catalog will be removed from GOG on Monday, May 27.
