TGS 2015: Yakuza Remake And Yakuza 6 Revealed

At the TGS 2015 event, Sega announced two new Yakuza games. More specifically, one remake plus a new sequel.

First, they announced a Yakuza remake that will be released for the PS3 and PS4 systems. This is to mark the tenth anniversary of the series.

The reason they are remaking the first game is because the PS2 was too weak to realize their original vision of the game. Now with the more powerful PS3 and PS4 systems, they can add more content and make the game prettier than before. The Yakuza remake will be available in Japan from January 2016.

Sega also announced that Yakuza 6 will also be making its way to Japan in 2016 too. This game will be out in Fall 2016 and marks the first numbered sequel for the series since the fifth game came out several years ago. No gameplay was shown yet, but it should look cool.

Hopefully Sega decides to localize both titles eventually. The Western world is still waiting for even Yakuza 5 to come out on the PS3.
